I have a Benq dual layer DVD burner, and I use the newest edition of Imgburn to burn XBOX360's D9 rom.

But starting from yesterday, I already wasted 10 dual layer blank disks, as each time I was using Imgburn, in writing lead in, always failed as "Session Fixation Error Writing Lead In", no disk can be burned any more. While if I use the same burner for D5 or CD, it's working.

I need to indenty where the problem is. Whether it's my system problem? Software problem or my Dvd burner problem?

Can anyone give me a hand?

Thank you.

thank you for your kind reply. But for the media itself, I had been using this kinda DL discs for almost a year, never brings me any problem.

Only recently I reinstalled my XP.

Yes, seriously, over a year, Ritek works fine for me.

I am just afraid that the burner might have some problem...judging from the log, is it appearing to having some problem?

But I tested with CDR and DVD-R, both OK.

Google 'RITEK-S04-66' and you get 10 hits. There's no way that dye has been around for a year.

You might well have been burning A RITEK dye but it wasn't that specific one.

Get some media that's known to be decent - i.e. the Verbs I suggested earlier and try again.

If they fail too then yeah it's your drive.

Is there a possibility that a drive can burn CD DVD, but DVD DL burning mal-function? I would also like to know that it's just the media's problem rather than the hardware problem, as the burner never gave me problem before. And I love ImgBurn.

hardware fails thats a fact ,but the last good media Ritek made was their GO4 -R 3-4 years ago the GO5's and newer have been crap.Like LUK said give the Verbs a try worse case is its the drive but you'll still have some excellent media at hand

you guys might be right. I tried another 5 discs, one of them can write lead-in, but when it's 50%, it failed.

I already put order of Verbatims DLs...hope it works.

Thank you.
