soysauce15 Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 (edited) I get an I/O when I try to burn a game using the .dvd file. This started doing this yesterday, before it would work without any errors but now it is giving me this error. I updated the firmware to my dvd burner as well. Here is a picture of the error. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a12/soysa.../untitled-1.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a12/soysa.../untitled-2.jpg Edited November 18, 2007 by soysauce15

soysauce15 Posted November 18, 2007 Author Posted November 18, 2007 also im using some "windata" dvd+r dl. Don't know if media makes a difference. Before I used memorex dvd-r dl. Thanks.
dontasciime Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 The disc's you have are really poor media. Get some verbatim dual layer made in Singapore. See dell to see if there is a firmware update to your drive. but most importantly use verbatim dual layer all the other brands are terrible in comparison

Thanks for the response.
dontasciime Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 There is a good chance better media will cure it. If not time to get an external burner
dontasciime Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 FFs bin your crappy dell or change disc's Anyone else is going to tell you the same. I did not type for the fun of it or to give you misinformation. If you want to be really adventurous crossflash you drive as there is a newer firmware on codekings page oh and buy your games to backup [edit] Might have been a bit harsh about your disc's
polopony Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 anyone else with any advice? start with the best media Verbatim and believe when a beta member tells you your media is not that great ,we've all been doing this for years and know whats what when it comes to drives and media CMC (memorex is one of the worst ,most inconsistent media there is ) For Dual Layer media Verbatim full stop.

I think all that's been said was all that needed to be said.
