jazzytaxi Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 I have an .iso of a dual layer DVD. I do not have an MDS for it. How do I find the correct layer break and create an appropriate MDS file using the .iso?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Have you actually tried burning it? Or use the 'tools -> iso -> display layer break info' feature.
BoSox2882 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Would it even be safe to burn without the MDS?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Yes (most of the time!), if the image was made correctly in the first place. ImgBurn will examine the IFO's and seek out potential LB positions and show them to you in the normal LB selection window - the one you're probably more used to seeing in Build mode.
BoSox2882 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 So if the ISO wad made correct the first time, for example if you use read mode, and kept the same layerbreak, would it be ok to burn without the MDS? I am guessing it would bring up the layer break box, but the only option would be the original wouldn't it?
blutach Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 No, it shouldn't be. There are often many places where a legal LB can be placed. But why bother? Use file mode for maximum flexibility in editing anyway. Regards

blutach Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Yes, building of files, rather than taking an ISO. Sorry for the confusion. Regards
