PureChaos Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 Hey everyone ive been burning dual layer for quite a while now, first with DVD decrypter, nowadays using imgBurn but as of yesterday i am getting a really strange I/O error and i cannot make any sence of it... I/O Error! Device: [1:0:0] LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A15 9L03 (H:) (ATA) ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: BF 00 00 00 00 00 00 20 00 0C 00 00 Interpretation: Send DVD Structure - DVD+R Boundary Information Sense Area: 70 00 03 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 73 03 00 00 00 00 Interpretation: Power Calibration Area Error i've been getting this error with 2 different types of discs, one of wich i am certain i have used before succesfully, futher more ive tried both DVD decrypter AND imgBurn, both several times on WinXp and several times on Vista, and i have also tried using a different image (twice, wich takes awfully long when downloading new 7,8GB images) On top of that i have tried both my burners at least twice and tried both a manual layerbreak and automatic one and manual speed / auto MAX I have no idea where the problem is and it came out of nowhere, just last week i managed to succesfully burn dual layer and nothing has changed since then.. HELP PLEASE

dontasciime Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Try updating the firmware on your drive to the latest 1.29 If the media is made in India maybe see if you can return them if you just keep getting failure after failure or clean the drive with a CD cleaner.

mmalves Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I 07:59:38 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-D01-01) (Speeds: 2.4x) Get Verbatim DVD+R 2.4x dual-layer media and you'll probably have success. Also check for firmware updates for your burner (probably on your laptop's manufacturer site).

polopony Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 its really not the brand (Fugi)thats important but the dye which is Ritek and not very good espeially bad when it comes to dual layer .Verbatim is the only good DL media and even now the Verb media thats made in India is suspected of being crap
