You then have the option to leave them in place or delete them. Many drivers are added by Nero, Roxio etc and are not deleted when you remove their inferior programs and install ImgBurn in their place. They sit in line and pass info from one to another and finally to the drive.....sorta like playing telephone as a kid. Data streams can become corrupted between the drivers talking to each other and the burn can result in a coaster if that occurs.

blutach Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I'd suspect PxHelp20 is a remnant of Roxio and can be deleted. Similarly, GearAspiWDM is used in stuff like iTunes and DVD-XCopy. From what I read, it is more a nuisance than anything. cdrbsdrv is part of Ricoh's B Recorder Gold, and again, from what I read is not useful. You sure have tried a lotta burning solutions. Regards

I think they use the Roxio plug in. Yes, I do have ITunes but I've never burned anything from within their software. What happens if I remove one that some software needs? Will it just put it back? chewy Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 My point was nero does not use any filter drivers but relies on spti, older versions used nero aspi, but it was selfcontained not system wide. Now that packet writting Incd would best be described as a plague not a filter driver. Looks like the poster is leaving a lot of programs loaded all the time that don't have to be active.

No I don't leave them running unless I'm using them. They weren't running when I posted my filters. Is this why it takes long for my DVD burner to read a disk once it's first inserted? When I first installed it and put a disc in, it would be maybe 3-5 seconds before the drive would recognize it and show up in explorer. Now it takes usually about 15 seconds without any writing software running. Edited December 4, 2007 by Sliztzan

spinningwheel Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Chewy; I removed both Nero and Roxio AND all their drivers from my machine. I'm not at home right now but I believe the only one I have installed is imapi. If I get a chance tonight I'll update this post when I can look at my machine.

blutach Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 If you want to use AnyDVD, you must disable it before verifying. It gets in the way of the verification process and throws up false errors. Sucks, I know. Other than that, we can't discuss decrypting on this forum. Regards
