circlek Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I am trying to burn a movie image onto Verbatim 16x DVD+R disks. So far I have tried both Nero and ImgBurn. Both fail in a similar manner. The write appears to complete successfully, but the disk is never finalized and the drive continues to spin and the tray is locked. The PC must be rebooted to remove the disk. The disk will play correctly in my PC, but not in a DVD player, I suspect because it was not closed. Here is the ImgBurn log. Any ideas? I 09:56:09 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! circlek Posted December 7, 2007 Author Posted December 7, 2007 One piece of information I forgot to add... I can burn DVD's fine using Vista's built in burning tools... Only the third party tools seem to fail. Strange. It's an Asus P5B (Intel 965P chipset).
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 When you think it's stuck on the sync cache bit, press the F8 key and look in the log window. If you see lines being added to it ever second, the drive (or some rogue driver) is just saying it's still busy doing something - I'm afraid there's nothing I can really do about that. Press F8 again when you're done to turn off I/O Debug mode again.

Keep in mind that Vista itself can burn DVD's fine on this PC, so I don't think it is hardware related. There are no filter drivers in the driver stack. When you think it's stuck on the sync cache bit, press the F8 key and look in the log window. I just wanted to check it was still that same error code being returned when it really could be considered stuck - and I wouldn't consider it stuck after only 10 seconds - it's quite normal for the drive to return that error code after such a short period of time. Tell you what, why don't I just uninstall your piece of *** software and I'll find one that works. Erm ok, good luck with that. Your system has the problem here, not my piece of *** software. I can see about 3 things in the log file that would cause you problems, but guess what ?? you dont need to know now youve uninstalled Imgburn
