demax Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 ImgBurn burns a DVD-R and DVD+R but when I try to burn an .iso on a normal CDR I get a notice saying there's not enough room on the disc (do you want to burn anyway ?) I tried various CD brands 700 MB capacity, always the same. And the files in the .iso are only 540 MB Does ImageBurn support burning regular CD's ??? When I open Nero is shows also that the disc capacity is 700+ MB and the files are only 540 MB. What am I doing wrong ? demaX
blutach Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Of course it burns CDs. What am I doing wrong ? You're not posting your log - see that pink thing at the top? Regards
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Besides the log, I'd also like you to copy + paste the info from the panel on the right of the main screen when you've got one of these problem blank CD's in the drive.
demax Posted December 19, 2007 Author Posted December 19, 2007 Think I'm going insane. I just posted and it disappeared. Thanks for the response. I used "Test Mode" and it was successful. When I have another Image to burn I'll try "Write" and "Verify" see what happens in the future. Sorry about the log, I've only used this program 3 times plus "Test" mode. (Since the Test was successful I didn't attach the complete log) Thank You ! demax ================== DVDRW IDE1008 0159 (ATA) Current Profile: CD-R Disc Information: Status: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 359,847 Free Space: 736,966,656 bytes Free Time: 79:59:72 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Write Speeds: 8x, 16x, 24x, 32x, 40x ATIP Information: Start Time of LeadIn (MID): 97m15s17f Last Possible Start Time of LeadOut: 79m59s74f ==================================== Log: I 12:02:17 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 You realise that test mode doesn't actually write anything on the disc yeah? If you're burning 500mb, there would be no problem with that media, the program clearly knows there's 700mb free space. demax Posted December 21, 2007 Author Posted December 21, 2007 Thank you LIGHTNING UK! for the response, your most kind. Yes, I do realize that test mode doesn't actually write anything on the disc. I just care to wait until I have something reasonable to burn before trying the CDR route again. Perhaps that pop-up warning is standard and I'll just click OK and burn anyways -- see what happens in the future. I love the small footprint this program has; I won't ignore it. Thanks. demaX
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Next time that 'not enough space' box comes up, press CTRL+C and it'll copy the text on it to your clipboard, then CTRL+V (paste) it into your reply. It doesn't make sense that the info on the right says there's 700mb free and yet you're still getting the warning from a 540mb image.
