macintosh Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 last days I'm getting strange and disturbing errors (below). Til now everthing worked fine. I have burned around 100+ DVD's using exactly the same setup (OS, DVD vendor [maxell], writer). Using different media [Verbatim] I get slightly better results, but still it does not verify (see below; log 2). I have also internal DVD writer and it works fine. Does anyone have a clue what is most possible reason for that and how to fix it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ImgBurn ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I/O Error! chewy Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Usb is a system intensive interface, the cpu has to handle the I/O, it's best to optimize your computer, according to the ram in use, yours is not. Shut down as much as you can, lower the burn speed to 4X and retest. Those are usually pretty good drives tho.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Try cleaning it, if it won't even burn MCC discs, it can't be quite right.
macintosh Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 Try cleaning it ... What should I use for cleaning? Regular claening disk sold in shops?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Yup, they normally have one or more little brushes on the disc that you apply some sort of solution to before letting them pass over the lense to clean it.
mjorr88 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I've had an I/O error but only on one DVD and it was Rush Hour 3 it happened when I was trying to read it on to my computer as an iso file. THats the only problem I've had out of this program. I'm thinking it might be the DVD itself but it plays fine. Are there any other explanations for why that one DVD acted up?
spinningwheel Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 If you were trying to break the protection on RH3 ImgBurn won't do it, but the I/O error should appear in the log...oh...you didn't supply one.....
macintosh Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 (edited) Yup, they normally have a (couple of) little brush on the disc that you apply some sort of solution to before letting it pass over the lense to clean it. Ok, did it. Result is not desired one - still get that error. If you were trying to break the protection on RH3 ImgBurn won't do it, but the I/O error should appear in the log...oh...you didn't supply one..... Yes I did suppy loga (please pay attention ) and problem is seen when writing images to disk. Aditonally: Nero Info Tool shows that "System ASPI installation is corrupted" Has anyone any idea if this could be cause. If so, does anyone have idea how to fix it. Edited December 28, 2007 by macintosh
chewy Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 System ASPI installation is corrupted since you are using usb that might be critical? LuK would know better than anyone killaspi? of course most of us don't have any system aspi at all do filter drivers impact usb?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 System ASPI isn't really used these days, ignore it.
