Ive got a new Lite-on DVD burner. I've been burning Taiyo-yuden discs and theyve always worked great.

It still reads discs just fine. I really think this is just IMGburn and DVD decrypter screwing up. help???????

I 05:47:03 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started!

I 05:47:03 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2)

I 05:47:03 Total Physical Memory: 1,047,280 KB - Available: 623,408 KB

W 05:47:03 Drive E:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size.

I 05:47:03 Initialising ASPI...

I 05:47:03 WNASPI32.DLL - Adaptec's ASPI Layer - ASPI for Win32 (95/NT) DLL - Version 4.71.2.0

I 05:47:04 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...

I 05:47:04 Found 3 DVD-ROMs!

I just installed adaptecs ASPI thing... and THAT seems to be functional now...

But Imgburn now says "No writers found!" at the bottom. What the hell!! It still reads discs, ejects fine, has the light working... bah

At the moment 'ASPI' isn't even seeing your burner.

Forget Adaptec ASPI, it's old and shouldn't be used on XP.

SPTI is default and is what works best - leave it on that.

Its IDE by the way

and if I select STPI in the i/o tab under "interface" it just goes back to the same problem... Device not ready (No reference position found)

Even so, if the drive isn't picked up (as is the case with ASPI), what use is it?!

Put it back on SPTI and leave it.

Does it do it with all discs you put in the drive? Even with different media codes? It could just be faulty.

Have you tried updating the firmware?

Updating firmware seems to be pretty complicated... ALL discs work on my DVD burner, dvd movies, CD games... and it still reads discs fine. It's just that I can't seem to burn anything with IMGburn or DVD decrypter.

It was working fine, burning the same kind of DVDs like 3 or 4 days ago with no problem :\
