ricciorules Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 I've used IMGBurn for a few months, using only DVD+R DL media. I am burning smaller files now, and am using DVD-R media. My drive is capable of burning DVD-Rs, but when I go to change the booktype under the "samsung," tab, the only displayed types are DVD+R, DVD+RW, and DVD+R DL. No DVD-R is displayed. I don't understand why this is, because my driver is fully capable of burning that media. Can anybody help me out here?
Cynthia Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 It can't be done as the booktype feature is not for -R media.
ricciorules Posted December 31, 2007 Author Posted December 31, 2007 how can i burn to -R media then?
spinningwheel Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 how can i burn to -R media then? Follow the guides?
ricciorules Posted December 31, 2007 Author Posted December 31, 2007 can u post the link, I know I'm a newbie, but where is the guide?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 In the forum called 'Guides'. or linked in the bright red/pink section at the top of this screen. or linked in my signature. Take your pick. In any case, you burn DVD-R just as you would any other disc. The format doesn't make any difference to the end user, the program takes care of everything.
ricciorules Posted December 31, 2007 Author Posted December 31, 2007 i burnt a DVD-R, and tried to play it, and a label called "mixed media" came up and it wouldn't playt it like a DVD. Any thoughts? Thanks for the link btw.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 To me, 'Mixed Media' suggests you've got a few different type of files on there that the player supports. i.e. pictures, music, videos. If you want to burn a DVD Video disc you need to feed ImgBurn some DVD Video formatted files (i.e. a VIDEO_TS folder containing IFO/VOB/BUP files). ImgBurn is not a conversion tool.
