Um, what do I do?

Your drive doesn't support the media you're trying to use (notice that it doesn't show Supported Write Speeds). The safest way around this would be to get Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media (preferably the 8x ones), as they're most certainly supported by your drive.

In addition to what mmalves said above, your firmware is odd. I looked at the NEC site and rpc-1 and couldn't find a reference to it.

You can click on the link provided and find the newest official NEC firmware for your drive.

Those discs are terrible, I tested some a while back and from memory (results in Media Drives section of forum) only one of my drives wrote to them.

 

Get yourself some Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden dye discs

Hm, last disc I used was Fujifilm DVD+R, and they worked perfectly.

Ill try with the firmware though.
