Niz3l Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 OK so I just updated to version 2.4.0.0 and im trying to burn an iso. When I put the disc in it says Getting disc information but freezes on that screen. I tried multiple times and even reinstalled but still same thing. Also even when i terminate the program, the imgburn.exe process stays on the task manager. And also I can't even open any other programs or shutdown my computer after the imgburn window freeze? Help please, never had this happen with old version.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 When I/O gets stuck, it's REALLY stuck. You can't terminate the ImgBurn process because at that point in time it's not in control, your OS is - as that's what's dealing with the I/O request. Load the program up and press F8 before you insert the disc. Then insert the disc and when it's stuck, copy + paste the last few lines from the log window into your next reply. It'll tell us exactly which command the drive is having trouble with and we'll take it from there.

rubia Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I had the same problem. I actually had to turn the computer off manually. I tried it twice and the same thing happened agian. Computer completly froze. Could not do anything . Tried to turn off in taskmanger with no luck.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Like I said before, when I/O is stuck you can't terminate anything. Windows just doesn't work like that I'm afraid. The command your drive/machine is hanging on is one of the most basic / common ones and it REALLY shouldn't be a problem for it. Could you please post a copy of your 'Filter Drivers' listing. The option for that is in the Tools menu. You should also update the firmware on the drive. You're a good few behind now. http://www.liteonit.com/DOWNLOADS/ODD/LH-2...rmware/BL05.zip

LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Remove MxlW2k and pxHelp20, then reboot and try again.
Niz3l Posted February 18, 2008 Author Posted February 18, 2008 I did remove them and nothing changed.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Sorry then but I'm all out of ideas. That command hasn't changed (they never do!) so it makes no sense at all that it's just not accepted when sent from the 2.4.0.0 exe.
nunyabiziz Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Im glad to see that im not the only one going crazy with that drive, my firmware is bl05. I have wasted 5 dl disk already after upgrading to the latest version of imgburn. I havent burnt a coaster with this drive until now, on the last one got stuck at 19% for 4 hours until I termiated the program.
Niz3l Posted February 18, 2008 Author Posted February 18, 2008 should I try to go back to the old version and try?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Sorry I thought you'd already done that. By all means go back and test that, but like I say, I can't think of a single reason why it should magically work.
Niz3l Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 oh and just an update on this, I did go back to the older version of imgburn and it did work. I don't have the problem anymore.
mmalves Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 The problem is still there: you're just ignoring it by using an older version of ImgBurn. You're also ignoring a lot of important updates that the latest version has implemented

mmalves Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 What bug? You didn't post a log showing which error you're having. Please do that and we'll help you In ImgBurn go to Help/ImgBurn Logs, open ImgBurn.log and there you'll be able to find the log(s) from when you've used ImgBurn v2.4.1.0 and the error(s) you had with it.
