Yeah, I've been having this problem recently...

Whenever I try to burn an ISO file on to a dvd+r dl disk it starts then it just gets stuck at "Performing Optimum Power Calibration" or something like that. I've even waited an hour before and it was still at that same step.

Thing is, I've burned an ISO file before onto a dl disk and it worked perfectly fine, same burner and everything.

Here's a log if it helps:

EDIT: just to let you know I'm a noob at burning

Search and you shall find. We only recommend Verbatim 2.4x +R DL, made in Singapore. Media code MKM-001.

How come it has worked before?

Also, are verbatims usually made in Singapore, or do you have to look around for them?

Memorex seems to be hit and miss. You've been a bit lucky before.

 

Some Verbs are made in India and it is thought these are inferior to the Singaporean ones.

No firmware update available for your drive so the best suggestion would still be to get Verbatim media and try again.
