theenforcer1 Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 I used to have a older system with XP, and I recently built a new system now with Vista. Since putting the drive in my new system I keep getting coasters! It isnt the media, because it is the same brand media I had been using before, now I get like 1 success out of every 5-6 disks, DL or single layer. here is the error...which is W 20:22:29 Failed to Write Sectors 1941920 - 1941951 - Logical Unit Communication CRC Error (ULTRA-DMA/32) sorry, the log is not loading...next coaster I will post the whole log. My drive is a HL-DL-GSA-4160B, and I just upgraded to the latest firmware...same error....DL or Single Layer...
mmalves Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Change the drive's IDE cable to a good 80-wire cable, set the drive to master, connect it to the end of that cable and try again.
dontasciime Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Also check for Ide driver updates especially if your Ide is Jmicron.
