bigguy88 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Hi, I just upgraded the firmware on my external Sony DRX - 810UL and now no matter what program I use it will get to either 3.2% or 3.4% completed during the writing process then stop doing anything... The first time this happened to me I let it sit for 5 hours and it didn't move at all. Of course I forgot to set a roll back point for the driver before updating firmware so now I feel that I'm stuck with what I've done. I was attempting to copy a DL DVD, I haven't attempted a regular dvd yet. Media I'm using is Verbatim DVD+R DL at 2.4X write speed. No error messages occur, it just stops doing anything what so ever. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Nick
LOCOENG Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I was attempting to copy a DL DVD, I haven't attempted a regular dvd yet. I would master SL DVD's before I dive into DL media as they are much less expensive to play with.
spinningwheel Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I was attempting to copy a DL DVD If it's protected by the author ImgBurn will not copy it. Post a log from the failure.

I just decided to upgrade firmware today and now I'm having an issue I can't solve. Thanks for the reply though.

Continue reading what I wrote. There was never an error log, it just stopped writing and the program kept running. And the dvd isn't copy protected.
bigguy88 Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 Help --> ImgBurn Logs Regards Thanks but like I said theres no logs in that folder.
spinningwheel Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 it will get to either 3.2% or 3.4% completed during the writing process then stop doing anything... IB does a lot before it gets that far along and it does make a lot of log entries before it gets to this error point. Post what you do have up to this point. Continue reading what I wrote Nick, I did. OOPS didn't see you were posting....Try to do the burn again and see if you can cut/paste the log after it stops working...

I clicked cancel the burn on Imgburn and it froze so I close the program through process on windows task manager. No logs were recorded. I gave it a few minutes before I did that though to see if it would respond and it didn't so I just closed it...

As spinner said Imgburn has a running log of what is happening as well as the state of your PC while you are attempting a burn. If you don't see a log press Ctrl+L to open it, then retry a burn and post the entire log here in this thread.

I'll try it with a regular dvd and get back t you with the logs

dontasciime Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Try changing the I/O to Wnaspi32 and get some better disc's Look to buy another dvd writer that can be placed in your tower case.
JasonFriday13 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Also, the infamous Semaphore Timeout error. Maybe your usb port isn't 2.0?
