Defenestration Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 As you can see from the log, the "Synchronising Cache..." stage takes a long time. I'm sure IB 2.3.2.0 didn't take this long. Is 3 minutes 18 seconds normal ? I will post some more logs if needed from the previous version of ImgBurn, and from different media and drive. I 04:18:33 ImgBurn Version 2.4.0.0 started! Cynthia Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Could it be that this image is smaller than the ones you used to burn with the old version? If I remember it right - that part of the burning can make the burner to burn more than the actual image size for some compatibility reason. I had the same issue with some RW discs in the past. It also took a long time in that phase. Can't remember if it was + or - RW's.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 It's the same code, take other things into account. The program is only ever waiting on the drive so just press F8 to enable I/O debug mode and you can see what the program/drive are saying to eachother via the messages in the log window.
g4danny Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Mine too and it appears to be stuck at one particular point. I used the F8 key at that point and the result is below. Note that the write had failed at a particular sector of the disk and had to repeat. May I ask, what the cache synchronization does? Does it write anything to the disk, is it part of the write verification process, or anything else? What happens if I interrupt the process during "Synchronising cache..."? Thanks! Daniel I 08:26:27 ImgBurn Version 2.4.0.0 started! LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 You can't interrupt it, ImgBurn isn't actually doing anything. It's just asking the drive 'Are you done yet?' every second and yours is saying 'No' with the reason being 'Logical Unit not ready, Long Write in progress'. At this point (after 15 mins on a CD-R) you should probably remove the power from the PC to turn it off by force. Try the KPEY firmware update from here too: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2008
