ctbarker32 Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Hi, I would like to submit for consideration the idea that Imgburn could burn an audio only DVD video disc. Currently one can use the open source Lplex program which will take high resolution audio files up to and including 96khz/24bit in either WAV or FLAC format and create an audio only DVD-Video directory structure and ISO that can then be burned to a DVD using Imgburn. This works well but is a multi step process. There are increasing numbers of sites such as Linn Records where one can purchase and download high resolution audio files up to 96khz/24bit. The burned disc will play back these high resolution files unaltered in full fidelity on almost any DVD player. This is a distinct advantage over DVD-A which is not as widely supported. It would seem that Imgburn is already much of the way there in being able to do this and the only thing missing is the ability to decode/translate FLAC/WAV files and embed them as PCM into an MPEG2 stream as Lplex does. It would be great if Imgburn could do this in one step. Thanks for the consideration. -CB
weisborg Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Something like the DVDFab/DVDIdle group advertise on their page. Not DVD Audio Disc, but a DVD Video with Audio only and maybe a static image with audio...this would be an interesting improvement. Only thing I'd see wrong is it could take some time/effort to do, and the other guys sell their's for $40, so they would miss out on some business. Other than that, it would be a cool addition.
blutach Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 ImgBurn is a burning app, not a converter/authoring app. Anyway, it's very simple. As weisborg has indicated, make a DVD Video disk abd in something like VobBlanker or DVD Remake Pro, still each cell, while keeping the audio. You can make your own still - a black frame will do. Then this will play in any DVD player. But this is not what the burning app is for. Regards
