The drive is an ASUS DVD-R and i can burn cd's with it but when i attempt burn a DVD it give the Optimum power check failed so I unchecked that option and now it fails out with an I/O error. Im hoping its not a hardware issue but if you could look over the log that would be great. The first file was an .ISO of a program. kevdriver Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I 15:00:06 Destination Media Type: DVD-R (Disc ID: CMC MAG. AM3) (Speeds: 1x, 2x, 4x) Kip, Buy some Verbatim or Taio Yudens and try the burn again. Those CMC MAGs are pretty bad. Am sure you'll have success with either of the aforementioned blanks. Leave all Imgburn setting on default as the program is set up to burn the best with default settings. edit: Darn your fast Cynthia............ or I'm slow........
dontasciime Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I have one of those drives They are old so no good buying recent media for them look for some 4x media also try 8x media Either way try burning everything @4x. Try burning one of your CMC @ 4X see what happens.
