Burning Questions Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I've tried some of the common fixes to problems. Divers are uptodate and I am running the lastest version of Imageburn. Admitedly my cd might suck that bad, Dynex 52x? I'm no expert so is that good? Anyway, here is my log: I 09:34:09 ImgBurn Version 2.4.0.0 started! I 09:34:09 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 09:34:09 Total Physical Memory: 456,944 KB - Available: 61,828 KB W 09:34:10 Drive D:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. mmalves Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I 09:54:01 Destination Media Type: CD-R (Disc ID: 97m27s18f) (Speeds: 8x, 12x, 16x, 20x, 24x)I 09:54:01 Write Speed: 52x Try other burning speeds, preferably 16x and slower.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Try slowing the burn down to 8x or something. Even if they are 52x discs, your drive only supports the following speeds on them: 8x, 12x, 16x, 20x, 24x. IMO, Taiyo Yuden make the best CD's, you should give them a try.
Burning Questions Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 Thanks so much! It finally burnt on 8x, however it did have trouble verifying the cd. Is that a problem? What does verification do?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 It checks the disc is readable... if it fails, there's something wrong with it.
Burning Questions Posted March 19, 2008 Author Posted March 19, 2008 Ok, so how can I fix that? Will it tell you specifically what is wrong?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Generally speaking, you buy better discs or get a new burner.
