Hi All,

Any help on this one would be great. I'm thinking its a problem with the drive. I've previously been able to burn dvd's onto dvd -r's (with probably 1 in 10 coming up with an error) but now it doesn't allow me at all. I have used many different types of media, but ever since it started being a real problem, I've bought some Verbatim dvd -r's because of their supposed higher level of quality. Still, I get nothing but error messages. I have also made sure my firmware is up to date. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have nothing but bad burns now, even with quality media, you'll most likely need a new drive. That one is getting a bit old now.

See if a drive cleaner makes it better.

Thanks for your help. I tried cleaners and they didn't seem to do anything, so I've just gone and got a new internal dvd writer. Haven't tried it on anything yet as I haven't required the use of it yet, but it seems to be doing a better job in common activities than the previous one. Fingers crossed, all my problems are solved.

Thanks again.
