tahoejeff Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 just built a new pc. downloaded and installed imgburn. on first launch, i see this message in the lower border. a coder prank? an infected copy?
blutach Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 LOL - these are funny quotes (mostly from movies), which have been coded in. The next version will enable you to turn them off (if you like). Check out EZ-Picker mode. A new one appears each time you go there. Regards
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 If you've never seen 'Father Ted' you probably wouldn't 'get' that one
Altercuno Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 I actually got the Ted one...the first so far, and Ive flicked the modes back & forth to see the quotes...how sad is that? how about attributing the quotes...?
tahoejeff Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 thank you for the reply, a bit of humor in the product, and most importantly...an excellent FREE product! now i'm headed off to imdb and netflix to check on the origin of that quote. funny, my life must be too busy. i've never noticed this before. i even searched these forums for that text before posting.
Altercuno Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 (edited) Wouldn't it be more logical - since EZ-picker mode was added to make Imgburn more user friendly - to replace the movie/tv quotes with tool tips appropriate for the mode selected ? Stuff like... Always use good quality disks for Dvd burning like Verbatim Burn Dvd discs at half the recommended speed Burn D/L disks at 2.4. Verbatim are recommended Update your firmware if you have problems ...Tools ->Drive ->Firmware updates Go to http://forum.imgburn.com/ for support Imgburn is a burning only tool and will not rip, convert, encode ect. and so on... edit: still learning to spell... LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 more logical, yes. more fun, certainly not!
blutach Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 And we'd still get a million repetitive questions in the forum as to why the burn went bad. Regards

Altercuno Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Thanks for the replies I don't feel strongly enough about it to argue against the forum owner and beta team members, but if it ever is implemented you will never hear the last of it...
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 There's no reason I couldn't just insert a few amongst the existing ones. Sometimes funny, sometimes informative... I almost like the idea... glad I thought of it

tahoejeff Posted March 24, 2008 Author Posted March 24, 2008 i've added season 1 of Father Ted to my netflix queue. it does sound funny. now i'm glad i posted the question. can never find good stuff to watch.
Altercuno Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Thy will be done blutach will moan when millions of people turn up with bad burns
blutach Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 I know you told me to use Verbatims or Taiyo Yudens, but these were real cheap and I couldn't resist. They should work just as well, right? I mean, you weren't serious about all that quality media crap, were you? HELLLLLLPPPPP meeeeeeeee Maybe this could be one of the new funny quotes? Or this one. Search the forum? Why? I have an Optimum Power Calibration error and I dunno what it means. Regards
