I am trying to burn what i hope might be a iso image

i got the file from here

http://refit.sourceforge.net/

as you can see there are four options i choose the iso image

the file is in fact a .gz file which i extected in ubuntu and inside is a CDR file

i followed the format for burning a iso ( mode: write , selected the CDR file but said invalid format

(I am in xp when i burn)

any suggestions please?

It's not a windows disc so it doesn't contain a file system that ImgBurn understands.

rename the file to .iso and ImgBurn will fallback to pretending it's a standard iso (mode1/2048)

ok i added the .iso at the end but still invaild or unsupported file format

the file is called rEFIt-0.11.iso

i notice in proerties its a CDR file type i siad that already i know but i thought renameing it would change the file type in properties

Use Command Prompt/WinRAR/7-Zip/etc to change the extension of that disc image. Alternatively, configure your Windows to show file extensions (by default they're hidden so you can't edit them).
