danakiecker Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Im tha noob. I used ImgBurn using TSST burner on my HP notebook. I used Memorex DVD-R 16X 4.7GB. To burn a dvd movie. ImgBurn worked great... i popped the disc in the PS2 and it says please insert a Playstation Disc.. A buddy of mine had burned some movies for me on TDK DVD-R that the pS2 WILL play. What gives? Before I get spanked I did search the forum. Thanks for your help!
LOCOENG Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 If you would have searched for Memorex you would have found Verbatim.

Cynthia Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Can your PS2 play xvid stuff? I think an original one can't.
danakiecker Posted March 29, 2008 Author Posted March 29, 2008 Can your PS2 play xvid stuff? I think an original one can't. So i need to convert the xvid file to what?
mmalves Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 So i need to convert the xvid file to what? DVD-Video, which is the format that any DVD player can play. You can do that using DVD Flick (free), ConvertXtoDVD and others
Cynthia Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 You should find plenty of stuff on how to make the PS2 play xvid thru a search with Google.
danakiecker Posted March 29, 2008 Author Posted March 29, 2008 Well using a DVD convert program is easier than hot rodding my PS2 Thanks again
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 you can get some elf files that install on your memory card and boot a nice little media player. They'll play xvid / divx. 'SMS' springs to mind. http://home.casema.nl/eugene_plotnikov/
danakiecker Posted March 30, 2008 Author Posted March 30, 2008 Well I converted it to DVD video and reburned.. Now I get a message from either the TV or the PS2 that " TV is not compatible" Thanks again for your help

Rophiroth Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I have bad news for people using TSSTcorp and trying to writs dvds for PS2. I have a hp notebook too and try to write some iso of ps2, only a few pal and ntsc patched isos work... I think the problem was the DVD.. or my PS2... but i try with another TSSTcorp device and found the same problem and found on internet other people with the same problem with "samsungs" devices who is almost the same(TSST = toshiba samsung storage tecnologhy). I think there is a problem with our TSSTcorp devices. If some1 know about a solution i'll happy to read it
mmalves Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Have you tried with high quality blanks such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden? It's also important to have the latest firmware available for the burner.
