Splash Screen

What happened to the transparent splash screen? Not that is matters but I like that one better than the box.

Wow that's weird. I just tried it on my desktop and I have the "new" splash screen. On my laptop its the old box type splash.

 

Oh well. Must have something to do with resolution or adapter config.

If the commands aren't supported then the old one is used.

Just for the sake of completeness. Both machines are running XP Pro SP2.

And you weren't running it in 'compatibility' mode or anything?

 

Maybe it was the colour depth then, otherwise I'm all out of ideas!

Just tested on my server (windows 2000, 16bit colour), I get the new banner.

Windows Me gives the old style.

Doesn't matter to me as long as you don't change to a stupid monkey with a crown...hehehe I'd imagine it would have to be 2K+ for it to work. About the only thing before that would have been a null brush, which usually can do the same thing since most often the area is only a transparent segment of what was there at the time of loading...move something under it and it doesn't reflect it in the transparent section, etc...although now that I try it the thing goes away to quick or gets covered up, so I guess it wouldn't matter either way as it isn't topmost...

Ok...that one is kinda cute, I could allow that. Most people may not get my ref unless they have used Fab for some time.

 

Nice job on the guides BTW. Didn't notice much till recently, but they took some time and are very detailed.
