camichael74 Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I have been trying to burn an xbox 360 game to a DVD +R DL disc. I downloaded a new driver for the disc drive that i am using and imgburn sees it as a dl burner. I select the dvd file (all the settings are correct) and start the burn, at first it acts like its going to do somthing but, as you will see in the log, i tells me i have an incompatible format. i have no clue what to do next... I 22:34:18 ImgBurn Version 2.4.1.0 started! I 22:34:18 Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 22:34:18 Total Physical Memory: 1,038,444 KB - Available: 515,424 KB W 22:34:18 Drive D:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. I 22:34:18 Initialising SPTI... I 22:34:18 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 22:34:18 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD
Cynthia Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Hi and welcome to the forum, camichael74! Your burner don't like that brand of media. Could try with some Verbatims 2.4x speeds branded 'Made in Singapore'. Avoid the ones made in India. Or get a new burner that likes that brand of media.

liftman Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 hi your log states you are using max write speed you could try to using a lower one i always use x1 for xbox 360 games it takes 40 mins but what the heck it works
dontasciime Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 2.4 is the lowest value for + media so your 1x writes at 2.4x
liftman Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 2.4 is the lowest value for + media so your 1x writes at 2.4x thanks for that i stand corrected but surely burning at max speed would not help, would it ?
dontasciime Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 in his case 2.4x was max I think his/her writer is laptop drive in a gateway machine and that certainly will not help nor his/her choice of media. Verbatim 2.4x MIS media maybe his/her only hope or get a usb2 enclosure and stick in a pioneer 111/112/115 and take the risk of semaphore timeout errors. it takes 40 mins but what the heck it works Good advice there though @2.4x
LOCOENG Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 2.4 is the lowest value for + media so your 1x writes at 2.4x thanks for that i stand corrected but surely burning at max speed would not help, would it ? It doesn't matter, the write strategy is determined by the drive/firmware and media being used. Your drive may be different than the OP's and support a wider range of speeds.
