LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Try cleaning the drive with a special cleaning disc. Are those a new spindle of discs? Maybe it's a dodgy batch? If all else fails, you might need to look at getting a new drive. btw, 512mb RAM and Vista really don't go. Is that a new machine? Most the ones I see now that come with vista have 2GB. Memory is so cheap now it's probably worth getting some more.

Yes this came with 512mb I guess. Don't know much about the ram etc, my husband bought it and he is computer dumb to... haha. Used to be able to burn anything so can't figure out why all of a sudden NOTHING will burn... will check it out. Thanks for helping! Linda
blutach Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Linda, All we can say is you are doing everything right. Check your DMA - see link in my signature. And as horrible as it seems, your cables may be bung and may need replacing with high quality 80 pin ones. Regards
