Cynthia Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 What's new Added tooltips Many small improvements and bug fixes http://www.cdspeed2000.com/
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I wonder if this means cdspeed is now totally a thing of the past or not? The seem to be developing both in parallel for some reason... bit odd if you ask me!
Cynthia Posted April 24, 2008 Author Posted April 24, 2008 Could be the arrival of the new media such as Blu-ray. To have a program name that only includes the word 'CD-DVD' could imply that it will only support those types. To add two other types makes the program name long and perhaps the sole intention of the new name is to avoid a long program name such as Nero CD-DVD-HD-Blu-ray Speed. Nero 8 is now also released in a new flavor - Nero 8 HD. So the name change could be the reason of that. I can't see that they are developing both Nero CD-DVD Speed and Nero DiscSpeed. The latest update is only for the later program.
Cynthia Posted April 24, 2008 Author Posted April 24, 2008 In Nero 7 (and earlier versions) the name is Nero CD-DVD Speed and in Nero 8 it's Nero DiscSpeed.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I only mentioned it because I've seen newer releases of DiscSpeed that were based on older code than the current CD-DVD Speed. Hopefully this latest DiscSpeed is actually newer than the current CD-DVD Speed!
LOCOENG Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Nero CD-DVD-HD-Blu-ray Speed That actually has a nice ring to it.
dontasciime Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 I too thought it odd that both are being developed side by side. I was going to start a thread about new version then got sidetracked.
