user6715 Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 (edited) I have been using ImgBurn to burn copies of my dvd collection for some time now. All of a sudden I have started receiving error during the burning process. After reading forum archives for similar errors I have verified the firmware on my dvd writer is current. I have made sure I am using good quality media (Taiyo Yuden). But the error still persists. Here is the log file: I 20:49:02 ImgBurn Version 2.4.1.0 started! I 20:49:02 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 20:49:02 Total Physical Memory: 3,536,112 KB - Available: 3,031,096 KB I 20:49:04 Initialising SPTI... I 20:49:04 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 20:49:13 Found 1 CD-RW, 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD Error1.bmp Edited April 30, 2008 by user6715
blutach Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Welcome to ImgBurn Forum. By what you say, it seems your drive may be on the way out. You have excellent media and are not burning too quickly, but it can't read back what it wrote. Check the following: - DMA (this should be OK since your write speed was OK) - Cables (perhaps its time to get a new 80 wire one) - Drive cleaner kit Regards

I will give replacing the burner a try.
