Julius Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 OK, so I tried burning an .iso to CDR, like I've often done before, also with ImgBurn, but I had to try 3 Verbatim CDRs (non fake) and only the third was successful, after I did a "Try Again" in the Verify stage. Here's the error-log: I 15:44:12 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started!I 15:44:12 Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (5.2, Build 3790 : Service Pack 2)I 15:44:12 Total Physical Memory: 1.046.848 KB - Available: 625.172 KBI 15:44:12 Initialising SPTI...I 15:44:12 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...I 15:44:12 Found 1 DVD
LIGHTNING UK! Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Update ImgBurn. Try burning at 16x or 32x. Ditch the verbatim discs and try some taiyo yuden ones instead. I stopped using Verbatim CD's ages ago in favour of TY's and I've never looked back. TY's are by far the best.
Julius Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 Apparently it had nothing to do with the media, and everything to do with my stupid Plextor 716 AL. Those are crap burners, that wear out after only a couple of burns and a few years. By the way, where do I buy TY discs? I have no idea if they're even for sale here, haven't seen them in online stores either.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I can only speak for fellow UK residents... and we can get them from most online places. I use www.svp.co.uk for my stuff. Thinking about it, Verbatim do actually sell some TY dye discs, I believe they're the 'pastel' ones. Plextor do some TY dye discs too.
Peru Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 By the way, where do I buy TY discs? I've been very happy with this place (I'm in USA): http://www.supermediastore.com/
blutach Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 And if you're downunder, go to www.pcx.com.au Regards
