RICOH 2.4x DVD+R DL [RICOHJPN-D00-01]

or why you should use verbatim, pioneer's are the only burners I have seen to get a decent burn on that media, of course sooner or later, ricoh/ritek MIGHT get it together.

I will be scanning all my tests with the DW1655 when it arrives (hopefully today) ! Well as soon as I test burn the last three DL discs with my NEC2510.......

I don't see a scan? I've had good luck with Ricoh DL's and a Plex 716.

I haven't done the scans yet mate - trying to finish the burns first !! lol then I will install the DW1655 that came today and scan all of the discs....

My bad  , I thought Chewy had posted some scans here that I wasn't seeing, I didn't catch on he was referring to the posts in the Media section.

Strangely enough Ricoh DL's are now more money than Verbs in Canada, so they are not worth playing with IMO. For a short time when media prices started crashing here, Ricoh +DL's were considerably cheaper than Verbs and were worth considering as a decent substitute IMO(although not equal). Now Verb +DL's can be had for $3.00CAD($2.60US) each (non-printable, printable are still about $5), where as Ricohs are about $.25 more, and if that continues I won't be replacing my small inventory of them.

here's what's scary, media inconsistency from one disk to the next disk in one spindle,

verbatim 16x +R burned with my NEC 3550 @8x.

Hmm, not good seeing a huge variance like that from a "good" company like Verb. Nothing else is going on in the background? How do they look if burned at 16X?
