As stated in the title, I got an error with the Power Calibration Area, I'll add the log, and I hope you can help me. Oh yea, I'm using Verbatim DVD+R DL DVD's.

I got the same error yesterday, and it seemed to have resolved itself, but it won't do it for me now ;(

Replace your drive with a newer one as your writer is getting on a bit now and does not or probably will not fully support the media you have.

You may have better luck with the 2.4x Verbatim MKM-001-00 instead of the 8x ones which your drive is struggling with.

I doubt that drive even knows about the MKM-003-00 dye, it's probably just using some default write strategy - and it's failing.

So basically, that drive sucks? I know its old (like 4 years hehe) but does that really form the problem here? And the only to solve that is to replace the burner (as in the drive that burns the DVD)?

And not to be defensive or suggestive, but I burned a DVD+R DL with nero yesterday, and it burned (but the DVD didn't work lol)

P.S. Do you have suggestions about what drive would work for me?

Pioneer 111/112/115 is a good choice if your aiming to backup your 360 games in combination with Verbatim media.

Thanks for your help ;D

i have the same problems..

but i allways burn with the NEC 2510A firmware 2.18 until yesterday with the same media.

i don't have any problems before now.

i have try to upgrade my firmware on my NEC 2510A to firmware 2.19 including booktype patch

Booktype setting allows for setting the booktype of a +R/+RW and +R-DL DVD disc to DVD-ROM.

This improves compatibility for some older commercial players.

The booktype of minus media cannot be changed.

and now i can burn
