LyndaG Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Hi Everyone, I am a complete newbie at this and even though I've read through a lot of the information I am still stuck, and I'm feeling like a total dummy as well! I am trying to create a DVD that will play on my Home Theater DVD player of a slideshow I created. I used DVDFlick to create the file and now I'm trying to burn it to a disk. Right now I am using cheapo disks until I figure out what I am doing! I have ImgBurn open and my file selected but across the bottom of the screen it says "Getting Write Speed Descriptors" and hangs. Any ideas about what I need to do? Thank you so much for any input you can give me. I've been pulling my hair out since last night, soon I'll be bald! Lynda Here is my log: I 10:02:59 ImgBurn Version 2.4.1.0 started! I 10:02:59 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 10:02:59 Total Physical Memory: 1,015,328 KB - Available: 412,916 KB W 10:02:59 Drive K:\ (FAT32) does not support single files > 4 GB in size. I 10:02:59 Initialising SPTI... I 10:02:59 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 10:03:06 Found 1 CD-ROM and 1 DVD-RW!
mmalves Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 The disc you're using, is it a DVD-R or DVD-RW? If it's a DVD+R or DVD+RW it won't work since your drive doesn't support them. Maybe you should buy a new burner, as that would ensure best quality burns on any format and burners are pretty cheap these days
LyndaG Posted June 23, 2008 Author Posted June 23, 2008 It is a DVD-R. I've only used the DVD burner 2 or 3 times since I've had this computer. Now when I really need it to work I'm stuck!
