elations Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 This would have been my first install of Imgburn and I liked the fact you have given the md5 has, so it's possible to make sure one has the correct installer. According to the download page, the md5 hash value should be 5D9C1275A141641AD8EAE64191DE7560. However, the result I got for a download from Softpedia (checking with hksfv) was: 4e7063eac8196c9304d98617cf07f32b *SetupImgBurn_2.4.1.0.exe I back-checked this result with downloads from two other sources (SpeedLabs and Free-Codecs), only to get the same result . Now I'm wondering why this is so I just hope there's not a virus with the habit of writing extra code to execuatbles on my system... #39;(
mmalves Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Get from the ImgBurn.com mirror, as that's the correct one. There was a silent update issued a few hours after ImgBurn v2.4.1.0 was released and some of the mirrors didn't pick it up. By the way, if you're so worried about your precious data that everyone's after, you should learn how to run programs in restricted access/environment.

Thanks, that one checks okay and I can do my first install after reading so many good things about the ImgBurn (why I didn't hear of it earlier I can't understand!). By the way, if you're so worried about your precious data that everyone's after, you should learn how to run programs in restricted access/environment. Good tip, though I wasn't ignorant of this method. I've been using Sandboxie for ages (where it felt appropriate, that is). Cheers!
