babimemp Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I am burning an ISO file to DVD. img burn says not near enough disc space on my DVD R. I don't have this problem with DVD Shrink. What gives and how do I accommodate? Disc Information: Status: Empty Erasable: No Free Sectors: 2,298,496 Free Space: 4,707,319,808 bytes Supported Write Speeds: 4x, 8x Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Book Type: DVD-R Part Version: 5 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track
mmalves Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 If my crystall ball is correct, you're probably trying to burn an ISO image intended to be burned on a dual-layer disc, which holds up to 8,547,991,552 bytes. You can either use DVD Shrink to shrink that image to fit a common 4.7GB blank disc, or you could buy a Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x MKM-001-00 Made in Singapore blank disc and burn that ISO image as it is

If your file is bigger than 4.38 gb then it has to be compressed to that size or less for imgburn to work.
