Dstruct Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Found some links via Google where people said you can rip an unencrypted DVD (wihh several VOB files) to a single VOB file with ImgBurn? Is that true? I mean I just can select to write ISO, BIN and IMG in "Read" mode!?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 You can't output anything except a disc image (of variation of it in the case of an Audio CD to a WAV file) with ImgBurn so no, it won't create a single VOB file. It'll create an image of the discs in BIN/IMG/ISO etc format.
blutach Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 There are transcoding apps which output files into unsplit VOBs. Or even easier is to use the DOS copy /b command to combine the VOBs. For example copy /b file1+file2+file3 file4 Note - this is against the DVD spec, so I presume you are doing it for re-encoding to another format. Regards
Dstruct Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 yeah, i usually do this all with virtualdub and the fcchandler mpeg-2 plugin. no problem with these.
blutach Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Yeah, that is a good combination. One thing that you might consider to combine VOBs programatically is PgcDemux. Don't worry about the demuxing, but tick the box where it says create a PGC VOB - it will output one huge VOB of the selected PGC (presumably the title you are interested in). Regards
