Nasamun Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I'm trying to back up some dvd's. I use DVDFav to rip the disc to DVD9, then use DVDShrink to bring it down to dvd5 in an iso format. SO far I've burnt 4 discs trying to get them to play in my dvdplayer but nothing seems to work. The computer reads them just fine, of course. Can anyone give me some help please? LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Slow the burn down to 8x or 12x and try again. They're probably not playing because the drive isn't producing a very good burn. You could also look into bitsetting options on the NEC drives so that it'll booktype DVD+R to DVD-ROM, that makes them more compatible with players.
Nasamun Posted July 25, 2008 Author Posted July 25, 2008 I used some custom firmware to set the booktype to DVD-Rom and reduced the speed like you said and now it seems to be working just fine. Thanks for the help.
