For data discs the layer break is calculated automatically and it's unlikely that you'll notice a pause when playing the AVI files, unless they're high bitrate/framerate :)

Here's what I would do:

  • build the dual-layer ISO image and look in the log for the layer break position
  • mount the .MDS file with Daemon Tools (or similar program) and use IsoBuster to see which file spans across the layer break (you can even estimate at which point in the file the layer break happens)
  • play the file and check if a small pause (usually less than a fifth of a second) would be very noticeable

You could go one step further and use file system padding (it's in Tools -> Settings -> Build tab) to force the layer break to be between files, but this is quite a bit of work :)

Or you could go the easy route and use single-layer discs instead :whistling:

//edit: I forgot to mention that all of this applies to DVD+R DL only. If you're using DVD-R DL the layer break position can't be changed (it's a limitation of the DVD-R DL standard not ImgBurn's :P )
