Update the drives firmware if you can find an update.

 

Change your media after that, then buy a new writer.

Please note that before this happened I burned one without a hitch. When I tried making a 2nd copy the problem arose.

Not that this has anything to do with any solution to your problem, burichi, but I think you can cross-flash that drive to a BenQ DVD DW1620.
