Hello,

I made a copy of my DVD movie with DVDFAB and used IMGBURN to burn it. The processes ended correctly in both programs but the DVD doesn't play in my 360. It plays in 2 other DVD players in my house but I would like it to work in the 360 as its the only one hooked up to my surround sound. (I used Lightning UK! "legendary guide" to burn DL DVDs which was very helpful since it was my first time).

My question I guess is if anyone else has this problem and if there is anything I can do to fix it. Maybe the DVD drive in the 360 is just junk?

My burning drive is TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H653L. I used Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL blank dvds burnt at 2.4x speed and verified at the end. I don't know if you need anything else.

If this is posted elsewhere, I am sorry. I looked through other posts but they all seem to be about burning 360 games not movies.

Thank you for any help. I wasted many DL DVDs trying to get a program called STARBURN to work until I tried the above combination. This works better but still not the way I would like it to.

check your DL to see if it was set to DVD-ROM

I'm extremely sorry if this is obvious to you but i don't understand what you mean. So check the DL disc I burnt to see if it was burnt as a dvd-rom? And if so, how do I do this? Like I said above, I followed the steps exactly what the guide said to do on this forum.

Sorry for being a newbie but you have to start somewhere I guess.

Thank you for the help.

Insert the disc in your writer/reader.

Start ImgBurn

Go to Write mode

In the right window (media info) scroll down to the section about 'Physical Format Information (Last Recorded):'

It should then state DVD-ROM in the 'Book Type' row:

Disc ID: YUDEN000-T03-00

Book Type: DVD-ROM

If it just states - Book Type: DVD+R DL - then it was not set.

:)

Ok this is what it says:

Physical Format Information (Last Recorded):

Disc ID: MKM-001-00

Book Type: DVD-ROM

Part Version: 1

Disc Size: 120mm

Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified

Number of Layers: 2

Track Path: Opposite Track Path (OTP)

Linear Density: 0.293 um/bit

Track Density: 0.74 um/track

First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608

Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 16,580,607

Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 2,073,215

The disc ID is different than what you said, but it does say DVD-ROM.

I'm sorry again, but is this bad or good? Am I using the wrong Verbatim DVD DLs? :teehee:

No, it do looks as you got it to be what it should be so it's good.

I was lazy (as always) and just posted an example from a single layer disc - so that's why the Disc ID is different. You have the right discs.

So everything was done right and the Xbox 360 drive must be crap. I was wondering if anybody else has gotten a movie to work on their 360?

Thank you everyone who helped me out.

my movies play ok on my xbox 360's.

Try again with a single layer movie as those blanks are cheaper try using a dvd-r this time.

Alright, I will try that. But do DVD DL's play on your 360 or just the single layers as you suggested?

I think I might just move my other DVD player into my living room because that works for sure.

I know it sounds redundant, but I really do appreciate the help. Thank you.

One last post in case anybody cares..... I burnt a movie on a single-layer DVD and it played fine in my Xbox 360. I have burnt 2 different movies on DVD DL and neither plays in my 360 for some reason. They play great in 2 other dvd players I have so my 360 will only be playing games for now on (which is probably for the best anyway).

Thanks everyone
