lehtv Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 (edited) Hello, I'm trying to create an ISO image from a DVD. In about 1,5 hours the reading had progressed 15%. I doubt it should be this slow, since most of the time the reading speed is 0 kbps, and occasionally it spikes to a few hundred kb or a few mb, hence the progress. Why does it do this? Anyone else having this problem? I'm using ImgBurn 2.4.2.0 with readspeed MAX (data) and 8x (audio). The DVD I'm trying to create the ISO from is a video DVD. I'm on Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Si2636 laptop that has Vista Home Premium and the DVD drive is MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-875S 1.00. Thanks. Edited August 19, 2008 by lehtv
lehtv Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 (edited) Okay, I got it sorted out. Apparently the problem was writing the ISO to an external hard disk, although eSATA-connected. (Seagate ST350063 500gb mounted inside Antec MX-1 enclosure) Sorry for a kind of useless topic... Moderators may delete this if they wish or leave it here so others attempting to create an ISO from a DVD to an external hard disk could find the solution with search function.
