I've got a single VIDEO_TS folder with the following contents:

VIDEO_TS.BUP

VIDEO_TS.IFO

VIDEO_TS_VOB

VTS_01_0.BUP

VTS_01_0.IFO

VTS_01_0.VOB

VTS_01_1.VOB

VTS_01_2.VOB

VTS_01_3.VOB

VTS_01_4.VOB

VTS_01_5.VOB

VTS_01_6.VOB

VTS_01_7.VOB

VTS_02_0.BUP

VTS_02_0.IFO

VTS_03_0.BUP

VTS_03_0.IFO

VTS_03_1.VOB

I'm told it is a 2-disc DVD set, but I'm unclear as to how to burn them using IMGBurn. When I load the entire folder into the BUILD function, I get the error "there doesn't appear to be enough disc space", which is obvious, but I assumed IMGBurn would know how to split the files and prompt me to insert a 2nd disc at some point during the burn. Unfortunately, that is not the case. So my question is...

How do I know what the split is? What files are for disc 1 and what files are for disc 2?

Thanks.

I would guess they were made for burning onto dual-layer media, which supports up to 8.5GB (7.96GiB) of data, while a common single-layer disc holds 4.7GB (4.38GiB). Please look in the Guides section for directions on how to burn them

You could also try to load the VIDEO_TS folder into a compression tool such as Nero Recode or DVD2One to see if the disc size can be reduced enough to accomodate a single layer disc.

Thank you both for your assistance. It has come to my attention that the contents are in DVD9 format...which is dual-layer. I was not aware of the meaning of that acronym until just now. Learn something new everyday.

Off to the store I go for some dual-layer discs!

Thanks.

You don't have to spend the extra money on dual layer discs.....99.9% of all movies can be compressed to fit onto a sinlge layer disc with little to no noticable loss of quality.

If it's important enough to keep the original quality, save yourself some headache and buy Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x (Media ID: MKM-001-00) Made in Singapore blanks, as they give best quality burns on most burners
