karlos Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Hi, first of all hola to the people that run this site . Here goes! I've got a film that i would like to make into a dvd that works in my Xbox360. The film is in MPEG2 format, which i converted from an XVID using anyvideo converter. I then used imgburn to turn it into an image, then burned it also using imgburn. Didnt work . My Xbox recognized the disc as a mixed media disc but would not play the film. What do i need to do? lol i really havent got the foggiest about making dvd's so be gentle. If someone could help it would be much appreciated as i have looked at countless guides on afterdawn and other websites but cant find what i need. I've also got a log if that helps? I 18:48:12 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! I 18:48:12 Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2) I 18:48:12 Total Physical Memory: 523,504 KB - Available: 206,756 KB I 18:48:12 Initialising SPTI... I 18:48:12 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 18:48:12 Found 1 DVD
mmalves Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Use DVD Flick (free) or ConvertXtoDVD (paid) to convert your MPEG-2 file and burn the output VIDEO_TS folder to disc, which will be playable on any standalone DVD player including Xboxes
karlos Posted September 6, 2008 Author Posted September 6, 2008 Use DVD Flick (free) or ConvertXtoDVD (paid) to convert your MPEG-2 file and burn the output VIDEO_TS folder to disc, which will be playable on any standalone DVD player including Xboxes thx for the reply mmvalves . Before i got this reply i discovered DVD flick and managed to put the film onto dvd, of which my xbox 360 recognized ( due to the xboxlive codec download! Yes i know microsoft finally made something that works ) . All good i thought! , until my daughter starts moaning this mornin that her new Barbie Diamond Castle stops half way through the film. Any idea on this? Is it the software? Or the dvd author program? Or my dvd writer? Or my Dvd's? (which are verbatims dvd+r). I have looked at forums and they suggest Roxio media suite. Lol surely there must be some program that does what i need? I k'now there are probably 100's of answers to this question but the one i need is how to compile a dvd from mpeg2 that will work in every tom dick and harry's DVD player. Simple? let me know
mmalves Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Please post the log from when you've burned the diamond castle DVD (you can find it at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs). Also try playing that DVD on the computer and see if it has problems playing at the same point it has in the standalone DVD player.
