mmalves Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 they're just random cheap discs but all have worked before. Just as I thought You see, those random cheap discs identify themselves to the burner as if they were high quality media, and when the burner tries to burn them with the "good media" strategy, it fails because the dye of the disc is crap. Try with real high quality media, such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks, and you'll get good burns at any speed
DUD3 Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 i haven't got the money to buy high quality. and like i said....it worked fine before. im just looking for a fix that doesn't involve expensive discs that may not work anyway
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Only 3 things really come into play here... Drive Firmware Media You need to change one of them in the hope that the 3 then play happily together.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 If they're fake MCC discs, they would be the first thing to rule out. Get yourself some Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R (TYG02 dye) discs and give them a go.
