tom_jones Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 looked for a new dvd burning software, found imgburn. entered 'write' mode and none of my video files are available. went to 'build' mode, browsed for my files, found them, but after they've been "added" to the source box in the top left corner of the program, i'm just at a standstill seeing no 'burn' button or anything that allows me to go on to the next step. i just need to burn simple .avi/.wav video files into a dvd format so that they can be played on any standard dvd player....whats the holdup?!?!?!?
LOCOENG Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 The hold up is you have the wrong tool for what you are trying to do. You wouldn't dig a hole with a hammer... If you want to encode your .avi into a dvd complaint format you'll need a program such as DVD Flick. From there you'll be able to use Imgburn to burn your ISO (write mode) or VIDEO_TS (build mode) folder onto your blank disc. Some DVD players support DivX/XviD playback and the encode step can be skipped...simply burn your .avi in it's raw form onto your disc.

It's not unusual Plenty make the same mistake. ImgBurn does not encode avi > dvd as LOCOENG says

tom_jones Posted October 11, 2008 Author Posted October 11, 2008 well whats a solid, reliable dvd burning software that i can legally grab off the net for what i'm wanting to do?? i guess ImgBurn isn't the most conveniant, i just want a dvd software that can easily save .wmv, .avi, etc types of files straight to disk
