Blu ray question

I know all the rules that digital video forums has so a simple yes or no will work unless you just want to say something. BUT can I back up my new blu rays the same way i do my dvds i.e. ( dvdshrink3.2 and imgburn) ? assuming i use the proper drive and media ?
