lfcrule1972 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 See this is where I am not sure about the scans, to me I always look to get above 90% burn quality, ideally 95%. That said the standalone players seem to cope ok with lesser quality burns..... So are there any hard and fast rules for a minimum burn quality % ?
chewy Posted February 9, 2006 Author Posted February 9, 2006 The formula used still isn't good enough to just look at a QS and make that decision, even tho dvdinfo has gone a long way towards that goal, there is still a ways to go. That PIF total should have lowered the score to below 80. Reading these scans is still as much an art as a science.
chewy Posted February 9, 2006 Author Posted February 9, 2006 (edited) here's a good example of interpreting a quality burn notice the relatively low PIF totals, PIE also, dvdinfo pro gives a large penalty to the jitter. sony branded media I 06:23:02 ImgBurn Version 1.1.0.0 started! lfcrule1972 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Cheers chewy - you confirmed what I do already then, I look for low PIF/PIE's and then check the Quality score as well...... So far the TYG02's are still my best burns
chewy Posted February 9, 2006 Author Posted February 9, 2006 (edited) I don't expect much out of my nec 3550, firmware is too immature Rearranging my computers and trying to optimize for testing, need a gigabit switch bad and a benq 1650 and a large horseshoe desk. Edited February 9, 2006 by chewy
