chewy Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Do I have to set for each burn? In particular I like to burn all dvd+r's as dvd-rom. All my burners support it.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Depends on your burner. Most will remember the setting anyway - or can be told to if there is an 'EEPROM' option available (as in the case of LiteOn drives).
lfcrule1972 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 The BenQ certainly does altho I think the NEC4550 requires hacked fw.....
chewy Posted February 9, 2006 Author Posted February 9, 2006 The BenQ certainly does altho I think the NEC4550 requires hacked fw..... On the subject of MODIFIED firmware, write strategies are the same with initial releases, later tweaks often introduce some overspeeding and cleanup.
Grain Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Like LFC said, the BenQ 1655 will stay set as rom if you do it in Qtools, however my Plex 716 needs to be set each re-start. Can't find an option in Plextools unfortunately.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 My Plextor 716 seems to stay set on DVDROM ok after a reboot. Are you sure another tool isn't just resetting it? I have PlexTools installed on my PC but I never use it - nor do I have it loading at startup.
Grain Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Maybe that's the problem, after I downloaded the latest Plextools it defaulted back to autostarting, and I haven't taken the time to disable it yet, I just turn it off.
88keyz Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Is there any chance that you can add the ability to have the program remember the last booktype setting? That way each time we burn a +R disc with ImgBurn on drives such as the LG it would automatically set it to DVD-ROM. Nero has a setting like this and I was just wondering it would be possible in ImgBurn.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Sorry, I don't like to make my program work on a drive by drive basis, it makes updating it for new models a right pain in the arse. You can get a little CLI tool that does this whenever your PC boots up. You should be able to find it on cdfreaks forum - in the LG subforum probably.
Rippraff Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 @88keyz Here's what you're looking for. Works like a charm with my LG. Cu Rippraff
