LIGHTNING UK! Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Where were the verbatims made? Singapore? India? Either way, your drive doesn't like them. If they're from Singapore you should consider buying a new drive. If they're not you should consider getting some made there instead (as they're the best).
teci Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 (edited) Hi guys, I have been having problems with burning 360 games over the last few months since gears of war 2 came out. Now it has problems burning all 360 games. I use Verbatim DL disc. It has worked fine for the past few years, but all of a sudden it keeps on coming up with the error. This is the log file if it helps. I 10:44:06 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started!I 10:44:06 Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate x64 Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1)I 10:44:06 Total Physical Memory: 4,191,740 KB - Available: 2,056,472 KBI 10:44:06 Initialising SPTI...I 10:44:06 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...I 10:44:06 Found 1 DVD Edited December 2, 2008 by teci
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 That disc has been used before, you need to use a brand new disc so we can see the real error. Have you tried new discs at faster speeds? i.e. 4x or 6x Have you tried using MKM-001-00 media instead of MKM-003-00? They're the 2.4x verbs rather than the newer 8x ones. Make sure you go for ones made in Singapore too.
teci Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I have re-done the test with a new disc and still go the same error: I 11:26:41 Write Speed: 4x I 11:26:41 Link Size: Auto I 11:26:41 Test Mode: No I 11:26:41 OPC: No I 11:26:41 BURN-Proof: Enabled I 11:26:42 Book Type Setting: N/A I 11:26:42 Optimal L0 Data Zone Capacity: 1,913,760 I 11:26:42 Optimal L0 Data Zone Method: Copied From Original Disc E 11:27:09 Failed to set L0 Data Zone Capacity! E 11:27:09 Reason: Write Error E 11:27:09 Operation Failed! - Duration: 00:00:27 I 11:27:09 Average Write Rate: N/A - Maximum Write Rate: N/A
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 They look different to me. E 10:55:21 Failed to set L0 Data Zone Capacity!E 10:55:21 Reason: Invalid Field in Parameter List E 11:27:09 Failed to set L0 Data Zone Capacity!E 11:27:09 Reason: Write Error So your drive is reporting a write error when trying to burn to the media.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 It's a drive/firmware/media issue so something about one of those 3 needs to change. Personally I'd start with checking there are no firmware updates available from your laptop manufacturer. Then I'd buy a new spindle of the 2.4x verbs (MKM-001-00 dye, made in Singapore) * This is important! * Failing all that, try running a cleaning disc on the drive. and if all that fails I'd buy an external burner.
