However, I've read through a lot of the suggested fixes like using Verbatim discs and updating the firmware, but I'm still getting failures. Here's my log for when I just recently used a Verbatim disc (don't want to waste them ), and thanks for reading my topic. I 16:49:14 ImgBurn Version 2.4.2.0 started! Cynthia Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Those that's shipped with a Macbook seems to have a firmware like 'AP12'. Was the writer shipped with your Mac or you have installed it afterwards?

barrelrolled Posted December 6, 2008 Author Posted December 6, 2008 To follow through, in case anybody was particularly interested in this drive: I brought it to an Apple Store for repair, and they swapped the drive for a Matshita UJ-867. I just burned with this using Verbatims at 2.4x and encountered no problems whatsoever. If you're having problems with the GSA-S10N drive and it's in a MacBook Pro, I highly suggest you get them to replace it. (You should still be under warranty if you have one of those in your system.)
