I've been trying to burn some dual layer images over the past few days, and I've had some bad luck. However, I've read through a lot of the suggested fixes like using Verbatim discs and updating the firmware, but I'm still getting failures.

Here's my log for when I just recently used a Verbatim disc (don't want to waste them :P), and thanks for reading my topic.

Those that's shipped with a Macbook seems to have a firmware like 'AP12'. Was the writer shipped with your Mac or you have installed it afterwards?

Well I did update the firmware for the log in the first post. And I updated it again to the firmware you posted, still with no luck.

To follow through, in case anybody was particularly interested in this drive:

I brought it to an Apple Store for repair, and they swapped the drive for a Matshita UJ-867. I just burned with this using Verbatims at 2.4x and encountered no problems whatsoever. If you're having problems with the GSA-S10N drive and it's in a MacBook Pro, I highly suggest you get them to replace it. (You should still be under warranty if you have one of those in your system.)
