Cynthia
Hi and welcome to the forum, Ti-ejtsch! Laptop writers can be tricky to use with DL media. Tried to lower the write speed? There should be a firmware version CA14 out there. If it's an Acer computer check their support page.
captainvideo
Hello, please help! I always have problems with my Verbatim DVD DL (+/-) Thanks a lot I am not an expert but I would always burn DL at a write speed of 2.4. That is the write speed I have been using with Verbatim DVD+R DL for months with no coasters.

Cynthia
There is a link in this thread. http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=44813 If you get a nice writer, either with direct USB connection or put a regular SATA/PATA writer in an USB cabinet, that should solve your issues. volvofl10
get some verbatims MKM-001's ( made in singapore)next time, your current ones are the MKM-003 ones, there more reliable in more writers, and it DOES matter what speed you burn at. laptops are not as fast as a normal or external writer, they suffer more I/O errors. try changing your write speed to 2.4x instead of Max . you'll notice your average write rate was only 3.8x anyway so turn it back to 2.4x and give your laptop a chance

Everyone knows that the best DL blanks are Verbatim DVD+R DL (MIS).
